As cities start to lift coronavirus lockdown restrictions, local officials are beginning to form contact tracing teams to control the spread of the virus. While applications are open to anyone, social workers are particularly well-equipped to meet this challenge, as they are thoroughly trained in mental health and public policy issues. This expertise is necessary as we enter a new phase of the pandemic.
